A little update regarding Team Technogear

You may recall we were approached by the Queen Elizabeth’s School for Boys’ Year 9 robotics engineers Team Technogear recently, who we proudly sponsored in their pursuit of the VEX IQ World Championships. Well, we have a little update regarding their progress.

Their latest competition saw them compete with more than 40 teams in the biggest UK regional heat that they’ve seen this season. And, after hours of fierce competition, we are very proud the boys placed second – beaten only to first place by one point.

On top of this great accomplishment they were also awarded the “Create Award” for their creative engineering solutions – an award given to a team with a unique robot design that is ambitious, creative and effective.

This is a huge achievement for Team Technogear and as a result of their success, they have officially been invited to the VEX IQ World Finals in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, which should take place at the end of April this year.

Daniel Frank, sales and commercial director for Sparc, said: “It’s great to see the ambitions of Team Technogear begin to pay off. We have supported them from the moment we read their email because it’s important for us, at Sparc, to invest in the future generations of British engineers.

“Now it has become a reality, we strongly encourage others to sponsor them to help them afford their travel and accommodation for the competition.”

Well done Team Technogear, from us at Sparc, and for all of those reading, please check out their JustGiving page here.
